How it happened
Neymar scored two penalties, in the 82nd and 88th minutes, to turn a 2-0 deficit into a 2-2 draw for Santos against Flamengo.
Flamengo had control of the first half. Danilo put them ahead in the 43rd minute, and L. Paquetá doubled the lead in stoppage time at 45+4. Santos went in at the break with nothing to show for their work.
The match changed after Jorginho was sent off in the 79th minute. Three minutes later Neymar converted the first penalty, and he struck again from the spot six minutes after that to level the score.
The numbers
Santos had the better of the chances on paper. They took 16 shots to Flamengo's 12 and finished with 2.43 expected goals against 1.16. Flamengo were sharper with their efforts, though: six shots on target to four, and 55% of possession. Corners were level at five each.
Neymar's rating of 8.3 was the highest among the standout players. He played 45 minutes, had 38 touches and one key pass, and his expected goals total was 1.58.
Flamengo's best performers came from the back and the middle. Agustín Rossi made two saves in goal and earned a match rating of 7.8. Jorge Carrascal, who played 69 minutes, set up a goal and created five chances for a rating of 7.7. At the other end, Diogenes made three saves for Santos and a rating of 7.2.
