How it happened

Galatasaray beat Kasımpaşa 3-1 despite playing the last half hour with ten men. Torreira was shown a red card in the 65th minute, and the visitors levelled three minutes later through Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

The hosts had led from the stroke of half-time, when Abdülkerim Bardakcı scored in the 45th minute. That was the only goal of the first half, and the lead survived until Rak-Sakyi's 68th-minute strike.

The decisive goals came late. Barış Alper Yılmaz put Galatasaray back in front in the 90th minute, and Mario Lemina added a third in the sixth minute of added time. Referee Halil Umut Meler's side of the night ended with the home crowd's side two goals clear after a long spell of level play.

The numbers

The scoreline understates how one-sided the match was. Galatasaray had 25 shots to Kasımpaşa's nine, with 11 on target against three, and won eight corners to one. They held 63% of the ball and created 2.33 expected goals to the visitors' 0.51, so the equaliser was the exception rather than the pattern.

Gianniotis kept the match alive. The Kasımpaşa goalkeeper made eight saves and earned a match rating of 7.5 before the late goals went in.

Yılmaz had the best rating on the pitch, 8.2, with a goal and a key pass in 97 minutes. Bardakcı followed with 8.0 and Rak-Sakyi, who played 39 minutes, took 7.8 for his equaliser.
