How it happened
André Henrique scored three times in 21 second-half minutes as Göztepe beat Eyüpspor 4-0, after the home side were reduced to ten men inside nine minutes.
A. Abdullahi was shown a red card in the ninth minute. Two minutes later Juan converted a penalty to put Göztepe 1-0 up, and that was the score at half-time.
Henrique struck in the 54th and 59th minutes, then added a third from the penalty spot in the 75th. Eyüpspor never found a reply. Göztepe's four goals were more than the four previous meetings between these sides produced in total, which came to three.
The numbers
Göztepe had 19 shots to Eyüpspor's seven, and seven of them were on target against four. The expected-goals count was 3.24 to 1.39, so the margin was earned rather than flattered. Göztepe also won the corner count 7-3. Eyüpspor still held 53% of possession against 47%, but that share did not become pressure in the final third.
Henrique's own expected goals came to 1.96, and he scored three. He played 45 minutes, had 25 touches and earned the top match rating on the pitch, 9.2.
Göztepe's goalkeeper, Arda Özçimen, made four saves and had a match rating of 8.1, so the clean sheet was not a formality. Midfielder Richard Akonnor matched that rating of 8.1, with 61 touches and one key pass.
What it means
Eyüpspor sit 18th in the Trendyol Super Lig with three points from seven games. They have scored two goals in that time and conceded 20, a goal difference of -18. Over their last 10 matches they have won three, lost six and drawn one.
Göztepe are 15th with six points from seven, and a goal difference of zero. Their last 10 matches show three wins, four draws and three defeats, with 20 goals scored. A four-goal win, with a penalty-taker and a goalkeeper both rated highly, gives them a clear marker after a run of draws and defeats in the table sequence.
