How it happened

Karol Niemczycki finished with a match rating of 8.8 and eight saves, the highest on the pitch, but he could not stop Śląsk Wrocław from losing 3-2 at Arena Lublin.

Śląsk led from the 11th minute, when Banaszak scored, and went into the break 1-0 up. Motor Lublin equalised in the 61st minute through Makan Aïko. Śląsk went ahead again within five minutes, Dembélé scoring in the 66th.

Motor drew level once more through Simon in the 77th minute. Then, in the 90+2 minute, Bourhane scored from the penalty spot to complete the turnaround.

The numbers

The scoreline understates how one-sided the match was. Motor Lublin had 29 shots to Śląsk's six, with 11 on target against three. They also won the corner count 10-1 and held 66% of possession.

The expected-goals figures were 3.93 to 0.77. Motor's total sat close to the goals they scored, plus a little more, and Niemczycki's saves are the main reason the game stayed open until the final minutes.

Bourhane had a match rating of 8.6, with a goal, an assist and four key passes from 92 touches. His expected goals came to 0.79. Aïko, who scored the first of Motor's goals, had a match rating of 8.2 and played 82 minutes.
