How it happened
Djurgårdens IF won the derby 2-0 at IF Brommapojkarna despite taking only five shots to their hosts' 12. Two of those five found the net, and the efficiency settled the match.
Christos Almyras gave the visitors the lead in the ninth minute, and it was the only goal of a first half that ended 1-0. Brommapojkarna pushed for an equaliser after the break but could not find a way through. Lien made it 2-0 in the 75th minute, which ended the contest.
Both sides put three shots on target. Djurgården scored with two of theirs; Brommapojkarna scored with none.
The numbers
Brommapojkarna had the greater share of the match: 53% of possession, 12 shots to five and five corners to two. The estimated expected goals were almost level, though, at 0.73 for the hosts and 0.79 for the visitors. Their 12 attempts were mostly low-value ones.
Jacob Rinne, in goal for Djurgården, made three saves over the 90 minutes and earned a match rating of 7.7. Almyras, who played 57 minutes, had the highest rating on the pitch at 7.8. Defender Mikael Marqués was rated 7.6 after 92 touches, the most among the top three.
Brommapojkarna's three shots on target were all dealt with, and Rinne's saves were the difference between a narrow result and a contest that stayed open.
What it means
Djurgården are second in Allsvenskan with 47 points from 24 matches, 17 clear of Brommapojkarna in 11th on 30. Over their last 10 matches they have won eight and lost two, scoring 18 and conceding five.
Brommapojkarna have won four of their last 10, drawn one and lost five, conceding 21 goals in that spell.
The derby history leans the same way. Djurgården have won 11 of the 19 meetings, Brommapojkarna five, and three have been drawn. Football is high-variance, and a 12-to-five shot count with a 2-0 scoreline for the side with fewer attempts shows it.
