The state of play

Necaxa sit 17th with nine points from 11 matches, nine behind Atlas in sixth. Their league sequence reads draw, three defeats, draw, and over ten matches they have won once, drawn three and lost six, an average of 0.6 points a game.

Atlas have 18 points from five wins, three draws and three defeats. Their sequence is draw, win, draw, defeat, draw, so they have lost only once in their last five. Over ten matches they average 1.5 points a game.

Atlas will be without Duk, who is out with a knee injury. He was a regular, with six starts in his last eight appearances, and scored once in that spell.

Head to head

Atlas hold the edge across 24 meetings: ten wins to Necaxa's seven, with seven draws. Meetings average 2.29 goals.

The recent record leans towards caution. The last two games finished 0-0 on 4 July 2026 and 1-0 to Atlas on 17 January. Before that came a 3-2 Atlas win, a 4-0 Necaxa win and another goalless draw.

The numbers behind it

Necaxa's attack has under-delivered on its chances: 20.8 expected goals against 15 scored. At the other end they have conceded 23 against 16.4 expected, which gives them a goal difference of -8.

Atlas are closer to their underlying figures. They have scored 17 from 15.6 expected goals and conceded 18 from 18.8, for a goal difference of -1.

Over their last ten matches Necaxa have scored 13 and conceded 22. Atlas have scored 14 and conceded 16.
