How it happened
Al-Nassr won 3-0 and the scoreline reflects a clear gap in chances. The hosts put 10 shots on target past a Diriyah side that managed one.
Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 23rd minute. Costa doubled the lead in the 35th, and Al-Nassr went into the interval 2-0 up.
Diriyah found no way back after the break. Kingsley Coman added the third in the 77th minute, one minute before he left the pitch, having played 78 minutes.
The numbers
Al-Nassr had 17 shots to Diriyah's 10 and an expected-goals total of 2.46 against 0.64. Three goals from 2.46 is close to what the chances warranted. Possession was nearly even at 52% to 48%, and corners finished 10 to eight, so the difference lay in the quality of the openings rather than the share of the ball.
Ronaldo took the highest match rating on the pitch, 8.6. He scored once, created four chances with key passes and had 27 touches, with an expected-goals figure of 0.34. Coman's rating was 7.8 from 40 touches, and his 0.66 expected goals was the highest of the three leading performers. Sadio Mané did not score but provided an assist and three key passes, for a rating of 7.5.
Waleed Abdullah kept Diriyah in the contest for long spells. The goalkeeper made six saves and earned a match rating of 7.4.
What it means
Al-Nassr stand second in the table on 19 points from eight matches, with 19 goals scored, seven conceded and a goal difference of +12. Their expected goals against of 5.9 across those eight matches is the quieter strength behind the attacking numbers. Over their last 10 matches they have scored 21 times.
Diriyah are ninth on 11 points, eight behind their opponents, with a goal difference of -1. They have scored nine and conceded 11 in their last 10 matches, taking 1.2 points per match across that spell. Their one shot on target here was the thinnest return of the night.
