How it happened

Levante UD scored the last of three stoppage-time goals, I. Ndukwe levelling at 90+10 to make it 3-3 against Sevilla.

Sevilla led through Robbie Ure at 13 minutes and were 1-0 up at the break. F. Correia doubled the advantage at 54 minutes, but Iván Romero pulled one back for Levante three minutes later.

Then came the finish. Adri equalised at 90+2 to make it 2-2. At 90+5 Sevilla went back in front, the goal credited to an I. Romero, and a player of that name was sent off for Sevilla at 90+6. Ndukwe's goal four minutes later settled it.

The numbers

Levante had the ball more, with 57% possession to Sevilla's 43%, and took 20 shots to 18. They put eight on target against five and won five corners to two. Sevilla still had the higher expected goals, 2.53 to 2.19.

Ure was the standout. He scored once, set up another, made two key passes and was on 0.8 expected goals in his 68 minutes, for a match rating of 9.1. Youssouf Fofana followed on 8.7 with one assist and three key passes. Iván Romero was Levante's best performer, with a rating of 8.2 and one goal.

Sevilla goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos made five saves and earned a rating of 7.3.

What it means

Levante came into the match 17th with six points from seven games, having won one. Sevilla were fifth with 14 points from eight. A draw gives each side one point and leaves Sevilla's lead in the table intact.

Sevilla's sequence before this game read loss, win, win, draw, loss, so they have now gone six matches in all competitions without a clean sheet... they conceded three here and have let in 12 in eight league games. Levante's last five were two defeats, a draw, a win and a draw, and their late recovery adds another point.

The history is lopsided: Sevilla have won 18 of the 31 meetings, Levante six, with seven draws. But Levante won the last two, so this was a third meeting in a row in which they scored at least two.
