How it happened

Slovácko took the lead on 14 minutes through Havlík and held it to half-time, 1-0 up despite having little of the ball. Liberec, with 67% possession over the match, could not find a way back.

The game turned on 60 minutes, when Puskac was sent off and Slovácko were reduced to ten men. The home side pushed on for the final half hour, but the second goal came at the other end: Juroska scored on 88 minutes to settle it at 2-0.

The numbers

The statistics belong almost entirely to Liberec. They had 23 shots to three, five on target to two, and nine corners to none. Their expected goals total was 1.69, against 0.88 for Slovácko. Slovácko's two shots on target were both goals.

Vasil Kušej had a match rating of 8.9, the joint-highest on the pitch, with five key passes and 91 touches in 90 minutes. His expected goals figure was 0.14, and he did not score.

Simon Sloncik matched that 8.9 rating for Slovácko from defence. Goalkeeper Milan Heča made three saves, recorded an assist and finished with a match rating of 8.2.

What it means

Liberec stay second on 20 points, 13 clear of Slovácko, who are 15th on seven. Slovácko's recent sequence of results reads win, draw, loss, draw, draw, loss, loss, loss, draw, loss across ten matches, so a win on the road with a player fewer is a clear break from that pattern.

For Liberec, the work was done in the build-up and the final third. They produced chances throughout, but over 90 minutes it did not translate into a goal.
