How it happened
Tiquanny Williams did almost everything Saint Kitts and Nevis needed, scoring both of their goals and finishing with a match rating of 9.4, the highest on the pitch. It was still not enough: D. Diaz levelled for Cuba in the 90th minute to make it 2-2 in League B, Group C on matchday 4.
Williams struck first in the 16th minute. Cuba replied nine minutes later through Y. Pérez, and the sides went in level at 1-1 at half-time under cloudy skies, with the temperature at 27C in Port of Spain.
Williams restored the lead from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute. Saint Kitts and Nevis held on until the 90th minute, when Diaz scored the equaliser. There were no red cards.
The numbers
Cuba had more of the ball, with 53% possession to 47%, and took 23 shots to 13, though only six of theirs were on target against five for Saint Kitts and Nevis. Each side won five corners. Estimated expected goals were almost level, at 2.45 for Cuba and 2.50 for Saint Kitts and Nevis, which suggests the draw was a fair reflection of the chances created.
Alongside his two goals, Williams made two key passes from 40 touches. Julani Archibald, the Saint Kitts and Nevis goalkeeper, made four saves and earned a match rating of 7.9. Yunior Pérez matched that rating for Cuba, adding two key passes to his goal from 52 touches in 85 minutes.
