How it happened

Don-Angelo Konadu scored twice for Lommel SK, and the second goal, three minutes after the break, turned a level game into a 3-1 win at SK Beveren.

Konadu gave the visitors the lead on 24 minutes. Beveren answered before the interval, Lokesa equalising on 41 minutes to make it 1-1 at half-time.

The second half belonged to Lommel. Konadu struck again on 48 minutes, and Lucas Schoofs added a third on 56. Beveren found no way back, and no red cards changed the course of the match.

The numbers

Konadu's match rating of 8.5 was the best of any player. He played 85 minutes, had 32 touches, made two key passes and finished with an expected-goals figure of 0.46 from his chances. Schoofs earned a match rating of 7.9 for his goal and one key pass from 63 touches, while defender Jason van Duiven was rated 7.5.

Lommel took 19 shots to Beveren's nine, and seven of them were on target against three. Their expected goals total was 1.52 against 0.73, a gap of 0.79, so the shot count and chance quality both leaned their way. Three goals from 1.52 expected also means they finished above the level of the chances created.

Beveren's edge came elsewhere. They held 62% of possession to 38% and won 12 corners to six, but none of that produced enough clear chances. Goalkeeper Johannes Schenk made four saves and received a match rating of 6.1.

What it means

The table shows Lommel eighth on 11 points from eight matches, with a goal difference of zero. Beveren are 11th on nine points, and their goal difference of minus six is the product of 14 goals conceded against eight scored.

Lommel's expected goals against, 11.3 over eight matches, sits well below Beveren's 14.2. Across the last 10 matches Beveren have scored 13 and conceded 17, while Lommel have scored 11 and conceded 14.

For Lommel, the result adds a three-goal win to a sequence that now reads W-D-L-L-W-W-L-D-L-W over 10 matches. For Beveren, a home game with most of the ball ended without the points.
